The apple of God
The apple of God’s eyes!
The deep blue sea, so beautiful and so full of surprises… the cloudy grey skies, so grand and infinite… the variety of animals who live in such harmony, each one living its own life, caring for its own family and needs… the beautiful and colorful flowers that beautify any place they’re laid in… the constant wind that refreshes on a hot summer’s day and the midday sun that makes the day so clear and shining…
Everything that is good and pure, you see and feel, show a little of Who God is. This perfect Being who chose to make it all for you and me, and still we hear of people doubting His existence, others not feeling enough of His love, and still others thinking He’s out there to put us down, as a bad judge who’s just waiting to cast everyone in hell.
This is what I call true negativity. People usually flee from negative things, and yet, aren’t these kind, the most negative ones in the world? But this Great God still loves them, with all their rejection and criticism; He’s that father who loves his son so much that he endures his rebellions, attitude problems, rejection, criticism, and so much more in the name of love. ‘It’s my son’ he says, ‘I can’t change him and yet I love him.’ If there were anything this father could do to change this child’s life, he’d do without thinking twice.
That is what God did on that Passover day. He had been trying with all His efforts to help so many of His children, from North to South, East to West, and everything done was still not enough. So He sent His only Son, the One who thought the same way he thought, the One that loved His Children just like Him, to leave His glorious place in heaven and come down to this ‘rotten world’ to be sacrificed on Mount Calvary for all mankind.
It was a painful and distressing time for Father and Son, but they did it, together in one accord, they showed the greatest love there could possibly exist: the unconditional love… you know, the one that is constant no matter how beaten, criticized, hated, humiliated you are. This was the last sign, the one sign for us to grab on and believe in Him.
If only mankind believed… if there are Christians who sometimes, depending on the problems they’re facing, fail to believe, imagine those who grew up with so many negative thoughts against God?
Everything is so simple and clear, how can anyone doubt Him? Have you doubted His love for you? What else do you need from Him? A love letter? Read Song of Solomon 1.15. A gift? Read Acts 2.38. Assurance that He’s with you? Read Isaiah 41.10. Security of His love?
“…For he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye.” Zec 2:8
You may be the most despised person in this world… you’re still the apple of His eye. All He asks of you is that you believe – is that too much to ask?
May the grace of God be upon you!
